A friend has been buying Viagra on the internet from overseas and having it shipped to his home in Sydney. Works out cheap per pill and no need for perscription.
Anyway question is how legal / illegal is this?
His pacakages are allways open and checked by customs and resealled before they arrive at his house so customs must know what is going on and they just let it in.!
Thanks

Viagra is definitely a prescription medication in Australia, so it's legal to order online provided that you have a prescription from your GP. If you haven't been prescribed Viagra by a doctor, then it's not actually legal for you to purchase or possess Viagra in any quantity. Ordering online can sometimes get through small quantities, but if challenged by Customs the onus is upon you to produce a valid prescription.

Hmm, I want to bring some medicines / dietary supplements / herbal preparations into Australia through the mail from overseas - what restrictions are there? (http://www.tga.gov.au/docs/html/bringmed/persimp.htm#q1)

He's very lucky that he has gotten them back from customs. Supply without prescription is illegal of Viagra in Aust. I can Understand why someone would buy them from overseas cause off the price, but is it worth getting on the customs watch list??

Ive ordered and recieved 100s of modafinil and viagra (only dozens of those suckers, they cost a freaking fortune) from online pharms over the past year and not once has anything been confiscated.
90% of the time the packages had been ripped open then taped back up with the good ol customs green tape. The quantities I've imported at any one time havent been small either. Most times when ordering modafinil I'll buy 100+, cause its cheaper for postage :\
Appendix a and b of the customs import restrictions does not reference modafinil or viagra, I'm guessing this is why I never have any troubles :)
Edit: To get on the customs watch list you have to use your actual name.. why would anyone ever do that!

Customs are; supposed to take generics away. Illegal generic Sildenafil that is.
I've ordered 10 brand named (viagra) Sildenafil pills from them online pharms with the online questionares, after doing lots of research. Customs looked at them and sent them straight to me. They must feel sorry for men ordering em a,.... they turn a blind eye. So it seems.
Viagra gave me a weird feeling in my head and a runny nose.

Some of the generic brands are allowed to be sold here I thought and are twice as cheap but not Pfizer.
Come across a person who said they can get Penegra (the blister pack says Zydus made by Alidac of India), Kamagra and Silagra (by Ciplar apparently) all generic viagra with 100mg sildenfil citrate tablets, and he's flogging them off cheap so I'm wondering if they're dodgey gang made weaker versions or a fake? Anyone had luck with these generic viagras? Most are made in India or Mexico from what I could find.

You can't be sure there exactly 50mg or 100mg, I saw a documentary lately or a news story (can't remember) and they bought generics and found that most did not have that amount and some even had allot more in the pill. So, some generics are better quality then others.
Viagra patents or whatever it's called that stops other company's making there drug, runs out in 2011. So any generics sold now are illegal. Else they would be selling generics in shops.
Once there patent runs out then the generics are legal and you wouldn't have to buy them from overseas as there will be generics brands sold here in Australia. Though, even when that happens.... generics will still be cheaper to buy from overseas.
I bought brand named. Because then I can be assured of quality. But fuck it's expensive. I'm getting generics next time
It should've given you a raging erection....
It did. sorta. I was on stimulants at the time. I was gonna test things out then, but my mind sorta wondered off and so I didn't give it my all. hehe.

I don't think its legal, but a lot of stuff gets passed through customs in small "single use" doses... even steroids. If they dont pass it they may just destroy it. Or send you a fine, or press charges.
It's a roll of the dice.

If anyone is found to be pm'ing sources to buy Viagra you may be warned or even banned from the site.
Sourcing is a big no no here on BL.
Read the guidelines.
